I feel like this book flew by. SO much is happening it makes you feel like you can't catch your breath. The stakes feel pretty legit and the big picture political aspects are intriguing. Im excited and nervous for Carl and donut to move on.

I usually don’t enjoy contemporary novels as the use of current slang and name dropping of things like OnlyFans and Fortnight can quickly take me out of the book. However, the way this one was so witty it really didnt bother me. I also found Margo so relatable and really enjoyed seeing her journey of becoming an independent mom and business woman. I'm excited to watch the show!

This is my second Sally Rooney book after Normal People and I enjoyed this SO much more. It was so wrll written that i felt my perception of the characters changing in real time as I kept reading. At first I found Ivan very charming and sympathetic and greatly disliked Peter for how he would talk about the people around him. But as Rooney delved more into Peter’s mind, his character really opened up and I ended up finding him super relatable. I didn’t love Normal People, the main characters were both pretty dislikable and I didn’t enjoy the writing style, but I’m glad I gave this one a try.
