I thought initially when this book was suggested to me that it was going to be a childish retelling of a story simular to 'Hansel & Gretel' with a bit more magic to the story. I was happily disproven. I love all of the main characters creations including her sour dough starters, lol

I am wondering what everyone else is thinking about the island in terms of its size? Based on the map, it seems that the island is supposed to be pretty small, considering there is only one city and then only individual crofts (i.e. no other named villages or towns), but I’m not really sure, so I was wondering how others are interpreting the island!

Hmmm, I kinda wondered if the island it's was magical too, and expanded or shrank around the outside edges... including inland places only the fae live. That way it could hide or expose some of it's secrets to who ever it wished. So it's size is always a little different depending on the islands mood.
