Hi all! I'd love to branch out a little in 2026 and would love some of your favorite memoir audiobook recommendations. I'm open to topics! What do you recommend and why?

Do you guys have specific reading goals for 2026? I do not mean goals defined by numbers or other quantitative metrics but more so goals such as wanting to read more books to learn about botany etc? I personally wish to read more on philosophy, AI, math, law, and graphic design. I also wish to do more purposeful learning oriented reading -- more textbooks than random dabbles if that makes sense.

I honestly think itās a habit I need to start but canāt bring myself to it. There are so many books that I have DNFed cuz I didnāt want to read a triggering description but was nervous if I didnāt read it Iād miss an important detail. Do u skip chapters/ paragraphs? Why or why not?
Edit; I appreciate everyoneās advice and the validation in DNFing. The reason why Iām asking for how other people deal with this is bc I am a huge horror fan and if I DNF every book that triggers me, Iād miss out on a lot. The reason why I read horror is bc I feel like it is a safe way to explore trauma (Iām sorry, I shoulve led with this), but unfortunately sometimes the descriptions r too much for me. I really do enjoy reading how all of u deal with triggering books and as I said thank u all sm for ur advice and honestly, I do feel a lot better abt when I do have to DNF <3

Recently, I have been listening to a lot of audiobooks, and it has been my main form of book consumption during this holiday season since I can listen while at work or on the go. I have run into an issue, however, because I primarily use Libby and am finding very long wait times for a lot of books on my tbr, and my library only allows 8 holds at once. I had a running TBR so that, by the time I finished one book, another would be ready, but now most of my books have several weeks at minimum before they become available.
What do you guys do in the interim? Obviously, I know audible exists, but don't want to support Amaz*n (š¤®) and I don't have the money to buy a lot of audiobooks on Apple or Spotify. Just wondering how you guys cope with the reading slump that comes with not having access to audiobooks for a while, or if you have any suggestions?
