The miscommunication trope is even too much miscommunication for me on this one. WHAT IN THE WORLD. I’m 350 pages in and started skimming and jumping ahead and they just keep being angry idiots at one another that I actually DO NOT want them to be together.
I’m giving myself permission to not suffer through the second half of this book.

Listened to the audiobook and was pleasantly surprised by it! I had low expectations coming in, I figured it would be mostly fluff. But I felt like Liz Gilbert made some interesting contributions to the topic of creativity and everything was grounded in real life examples which is an important factor to me in self help books.

I still feel like I have no idea what’s going on 😭 maybe listening to the audiobook wasn’t the best move?

RF Kuang DOES 👏 NOT 👏 MISS 👏. This woman is a genius and gorgeous writer. A little long winded at times, but we’ll allow it cause she’s so brilliant with everything else. Characters on point. Plot on point. World building ON POINT.
RF Kuang wants you to know colonialism is BAD and she’s gonna tell you that 3,000 different ways during this book and I loved reading it every time.
