I understand why Rushdie's writing is so well known. This book is an odyssey, mystical but also surprisingly gory. The detailed descriptions of even mundane actions by Saleem and his thoughts is so well written. The book is a lot to take in, lots of details, and jumps all over though, I recommend everyone attempt to read this at least once in their lives

Don't get me wrong, I've been enjoying this but man it is DENSE. I do feel like I'm slogging through this last quarter

I've been really trying not to surround myself with US-centric thought, especially since moving overseas from America, but I'm all for reading this book.
