What a stunning novel! I donāt read much of the mystery genre, but this book made me want to read much more of it. Impeccably written, consistently funny, and imbued with genuine heart. Itās difficult enough to balance all those things, but on top of that, Stevenson adds a layer of meta-narrative that keeps the whole thing extra engaging (it even varies from the ebook to paperback versions!) and balances an incredibly convoluted mystery that comes together perfectly in the end. This whole narrative was so satisfying I could sink my teeth into it. By the end, I was reading every page of the acknowledgements and afterword simply because I didnāt want it to be over. There were a few points where I got lost, admittedly, but that says more about me than about the work. Genuinely a fantastic time. Iāll be reading more from this author!
