“We were still in our orange shirts. Mine had a small tear at the sleeve, and I worried no one could see it. No one would know how much I was hurting.”
My tween self feels very seen.

If it weren’t for the Goodreads challenges, I probably never would have taken a chance on this book. That would have been absolutely tragic. Everything about it was lovely. The atmosphere solidified my desire to live on an island. The magic system was beautiful and easy to understand. And I so badly want Kaz as a best friend. It would be nice to have someone around who loves books as much as I do 🥰

Hey guys! A complete newbie to pagebound, but I'm excited to explore the platform more and connect with fellow readers. Also, hopefully it'll help me expand my taste to beyond thrillers/mystery books.
Looking forward to your recommendations. :)

“Incompetence combined with unchecked ego is catastrophic.”
If you believe that books are not political, this book is not for you. However, if you are struggling in this world we call society today and are filled with rage beyond compare, this book is everything you need and want. It follows the FBI while they try to track down a group that has been labeled as terrorists, the Dragon Slayers.
It’s like reading your social media feed, but on a much larger, deadlier scale. K. A. Pendrake criticizes the greed and violence of our society as well as how quickly those in power will turn against those who aren’t. This book makes you question what side you should be on as everything falls apart in front of your face. Are the Dragon Slayers really bad? Or is this administration more corrupt than the terrorists?
Everything crashes together in this suspenseful psychological thriller. You do not want to miss this party.
