have been reading this one for six months, and i think that's a clear sign of how little i enjoyed this book. all that kept me reading was the mystery - even though even that was underwhelming since i couldn't really solve the mystery along with the investigators after i've already finished the book, i found out it was bradbury's parody of noir literature. this helped me understand why certain parts of the novel seemed ridiculously exaggerated, but still didn't make me enjoy it more

the most unusual memoir i've read so far. the author combines essays, poems and images to tell the story of her life while also exploring the themes of racism, identity, mental health and housing inequity. despite being far removed from me in most aspects of life, epum is extremely relatable in the portrayal of her struggles. i especially appreciated her depictions of life with an invisible disability since those are the same struggles i'm going through

These novellas were written to help me learn more about Magnus and maybe just feel closer to him, but so far they achieve neither of these goals. At least this one was shorter and had a somewhat coherent plot (and a very loveable Axel)
