I feel like a stupid child reading this. Whenever I acquire new information I think:
"Oh, it works like THAT?"
"What the hell did you just describe to me? Can I look up a picture or will I have spoilers even about the books that haven't been written yet?"
"Oh yeah, you are telling me this now, but in ten seconds max I will forget it, so I do hope you explain it again later and don't think I'll remember this."

Ghibli movies took inspiration from these books !
I learned wayyyyy too late in my life that most of the Ghibli movies were derived from books. Some we know about, like Howl's Moving Castle, some we don't, like I didn't know Kiki's Delivery Service was a novel originally! So I've decided to make a list for the Ghibli enjoyers who want to take a look at where these wonderful movies sprout from 😁

Super not. I did okay in English. They always tried to put me in advanced English courses because I was in advanced courses in nearly every other subject, and I read a lot and I guess that helped me test well, but I always hated English. And would deny their efforts to put me in advanced English.
Anyway. The other day I watched Ilona Maher’s podcast with her sisters and I remember hearing B.K. Borison say she wrote the stories she wanted to read and I honestly kind of want to do that for myself. For fun.
No self publishing, no becoming a writer or author. Like I just wanna have fun with it, see where it goes. So today I spent time like creating a world in my head and added some key things I always love in stories. Maybe I’ll write it as YA so my kids can read it one day idk. And I’m just curious like, has anyone done this?
I actually once upon a time wrote fantasy ish stories for my neopets when I was a teen so it’s not really my first time attempting this idea, but if anyone has done this, did you lose interest? Did you absolutely love it? Did you let anyone read it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Again not for any other reason other than fun but did you also get imposter syndrome. I’m a perfectionist and it really ruins my life sometimes like it makes me stop attempting new things often just bc I’m like oh I’m bad (bc I really am hahahahaha) and so I quit.
Oh and are there any online resources with basic story writing? Again I just want to do it for fun, but I’d like to make it semi readable normal feeling. Not just magical mystical word vomit.

I love some romance in my books, even if they are not explicitly within the romance genre, ans I am always looking for well written couples! Mine is Kaz and Inej from six of crows. I love how the moral of their story is "I will change myself for better because you deserve something better and I want to be the one to give it to you"
