This was quite a confusing listen because the chapters alternated POVs but I found it hard to keep track of whoās POV we were in. It would have helped if there were two narrators (one for each character). I agree with the many other reviews that describe this as a low-stakes rather than a cosy fantasy. It had hints of cosy and hints of fantasy but it felt a bit on the fence and so both aspects felt quite half-hearted. I did enjoy this book but I didnāt love it as much as I thought I would. Kianthe and Reynaās relationship was cute and I loved the banter. The LGBTQIA+ rep was well done but the phrase āstars and stoneā grates on my nerves. The ending also felt extremely meh and dissatisfying.
