What's your most favourite book from your least read genre? You don't dislike the genre, you just pick it up a few times compared to other genres.

When I picked this book up, I didn't expect a trial/ game trope. After the first trial by air, I'm soooo intrigued.

For those who've ever bought a book purely based on the cover, which book was as good as the cover looked? So, for me it was The Sisters Brothers by Patrick DeWitt. I don't know why but the cover grabbed my attention and at the time I had no clue who this author was, also, the book is a modern type western, so far, far, from my taste but I took the risk anyway, bought it and ended up so engrossed in it I read it in two days (even while at work), and cried at the end because the story is quite sad and I was so invested in those brothers. For me it more than lived up to the cover! Curious to know about others :)

I didn't expect a novella would have this much depth. It's my first Amal El-Mohtar book and surely won't be the last!

Shameless plug! I promise this will be my only post in this forum, as it isn't a book promotion space. But as an indie author of a debut scifi/thriller novel, I figured my people were right here in the Pagebound forums. Forever After (by me, Derek Robinson) is a techno-thriller that ponders a future where consciousness uploading is a real technology. With a simple upload procedure, the minds of your loved ones can be captured and hosted within a hyper-realistic video chat app—EverChat. You never have to say goodbye. They live on, forever after their death. Their thoughts, memories, personality... it's all there, manifested on a screen. This is the world Brayden Cross lives in. He's an ex-operative who sees a murder shatter his family. On his pursuit for justice and revenge, threads continue leading him to EverChat. Is it just a stupid app? Or might it pose a vastly bigger threat than a killer on the loose? Ignore this post, or check it out if you're interested. It's free on Kindle Unlimited, and only a few bucks otherwise. Happy Pagebounding, friends!

Hey, Pagebound readers! I've noticed something about book covers that really bugs me: those featuring real people/photographs. Whether it's a face staring out or a posed figure, I get an instant aversion, and I suspect I'm not alone. I can’t quite explain why... maybe it’s too direct or breaks the imagination’s spell? If you also get this reaction, what’s behind it for you? Do you get through it and read the book anyway? The truth is that I've never ever read a book with a cover like that, even though I understand there are many great books behind those covers... I simply can't get past it. Can you help me unpack why these covers turn some people off? What about them clashes with the reading experience? 📚

Hello again!🤗 Today I was thinking about how excited I am to do a year wrap up when the year ends (obviously 🤣) and I want to ask you the same questions I asked my self, so here they go: 1- What's your favorite book of the year so far? 2- Which book/books you were so hyped for but ended up being a disappointment? 3- Which new author/authors you found out this year and feel in love with? 4- Which book/books you thought you would give 1 star but ended up giving 4/5 stars? 5- How close are you to complete your reading challenge (if you have one)? I hope everyone has a nice weekend and thank you for letting be your very curious book friend 🤣🫶

So I feel really new in the reading department. It’s been years since I read a book until January this year. Now, I feel a little lost on what I like and what I don’t so I’ve been trying a little bit of different genre, it seems that I’m enjoying romance the most. Please leve me some recs of your favorite romance books, the ones you couldn’t stop reading and you would definitely reread! Tia 💜

Emphasis on fun. Regardless of genre I just want a good old genuinely enjoyable book that either has a fun narrative/shocking information or just a really good fun plot!

The Names is the book I pick up on my attempt to branch out my genre this year. It's definitely more realistic and adult fiction compared to my usual read.

Hello everyone! I just finished reading beartown 2 and i cannot get over it (it was just too good). Because of that, i need some more sport-based books like Beartown or All For The Game series. Im looking for a book that is higly sport based, with lots of rivalry, stress, deep problems, interesting characters (with impressive backstories) and great writing. Any recommendations?
