I love this. The stories are so weird and creepy in the best way, and the art is absolutely stunning. The whole book has this eerie, unsettling atmosphere that I can’t get enough of. I honestly wish it had 1000 more pages.

I don’t really know anything about graphic novels, but suddenly I’m convinced I need a gothic one in my life. Ideally with vampires, morally grey characters, maybe some eerie atmosphere or something that feels a little Tim Burton-coded. Dark, moody, weird but still kind of beautiful.
So yeah… basically no big requirements haha 😅 I have no idea where to start, so please send help (and recommendations). 🖤

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a slow-burning, character-driven mystery that is largely carried by the relationship between Cal and Trey. Cal is a very likeable character. Capable and principled, with a good heart, but still rough around the edges in a way that keeps him interesting. I particularly liked the way he questions people; it reminded me a little of Columbo.
This isn’t a fast-paced thriller, but a quiet, atmospheric story that takes its time and focuses on its characters. I’m interested in reading more by Tana French.
