Like I just got from amazon (I'm in Italy) a book in the English edition and the next one of the saga in the USA edition. They're different 😭 the english one is shorter but more beautiful, the American is taller and longer but looks like it's cheaper. How do you deal with this type of things? You struggle about it or you don't care at all?

maybe this is just me but the last few books i just finished reading made me think of it. to me it feels like it diminishes the author’s work and effort to getting a book published.
i just finished reading People Watching by Hannah Bonam-Young and before that i read the Assistant to the Villain series. I found the books on pinterest and just borrowed them from the library with no additional context. i thoroughly enjoyed both and when i went to leave reviews i saw that the book description describes the authors as “tiktok authors” and it just really irked me for some reason???
it’s one thing for a book to be trending on booktok and bookstagram, like so many do, but it’s a whole other thing to be labeling an author with tiktok next to their name. it could very well be the author’s decision to name themselves as such and maybe i’m thinking about it too deeply but to me it seems like such a dig. i have yet to see a male author with that type of labeling and it feels like another way to shit on things for being liked and enjoyed by women.
anyway, i was just curious if this bothers anyone else? or if it’s something you’ve noticed and what your overall thoughts of it are?

I am enjoying the book. But, I am getting a little bit more interested in the past, rather than what is happening in the present.

Hi! Do you have reading buddies? Two weeks ago I visited my grandparents. We have this kind of tradition that when I stay over, we wake up around 6:30 and drink coffee together and talk about books. I never realized that it became “our thing”. Until now. If I remember correctly, around last year, my grandma saw the book I was reading and asked me about. And suddenly, we were borrowing each other's books. And soon enough, my grandad also joined! So, now, they are my reading buddies! I mean, it fits to call them that, right? That same weekend I stayed over, we went to a bookstore that we wanted to visit. We bought a Banana Yoshimoto book. Can’t wait to read it with them. My grandma has already finished, next is my grandad's turn… Also, I can't wait for this year's book fair in my city. It’s one of the biggest book fairs in the world! I am really excited! I will buy tons of books to read with my buddies (my grandparents). I believe it gets me excited, because not many people around my age still have both of their grandparents with them. I consider myself lucky. Having reading buddies is the be
