    Thoughts from 13% (page 64)

Finished Part 1: "Prefatory Matters," and I'm already enjoying the detail and depth to the main characters and their relationships with each other. I watched the film a few weeks ago and despite me enjoying it, I felt that there were numerous things missing that made me not understand the deeper themes and ideas of "The Shining." I really like Stephen King's books, so I know I'll definitely enjoy this.

"My name is Celaena Sardothien, and I will not be afraid."

I read the first 2 books almost 2 years ago and I really wanted to get back into the series. So the prequel was honestly a really great way to get back into this world while not progressing the main story (if that makes sense?). Most of the novellas I thought were really good, especially with the Healer and Desert story. Tbh I firmly believe that you should start the series with "Throne of Glass" and not "The Assassin's Blade" mainly because Book 1 introduces the important elements that the main series will focus on while Book 0 provides background into Celaena's past, while also setting up some side plots fir future books. But overall, I enjoyed "The Assassin's Blade" quite a lot.

  • What order to read TOG?

Ive finished ACOTAR and now as standard progression am onto TOG haha BUT I have read like 9000 forums all with different opinions what to start with on reddit so I thought I should ask here to the OGs 😅 Should I read Assassins Blade or Throne of Glass first? What is the best order? I also am overwhelmed at the prospective of a tandem read so I probs won’t do that ahah. Ty for opinions and advice!!!! ❤️ new-ish SJM fan
