So far this book has been fun to read. I'm not a big fan of the first person pov generally, but I'm liking it so far. The science in the book makes sense and its easy to read, everything is explained thoroughly and I'm having a great time, even though the MC sometimes does seem like a teenager with his humour but also surprisingly isn't too bad to read!

By no means is this book positive about the aesthetics of the soviet apartment building architecture, but I am still baffled about how ugly everything looked even at the beginning. I thought that maybe black and white pictures would mask some of the ugliness, because then you cannot spot how monotone the environment is, but nope. It makes no difference. Whichever way you look—soviet architecture was (and is) revolting to look at.
