I thought it would be kind of fun to see where in the world people are, and then folks can make friends with people from the same countries/ares (if they way, not pressure obviously). I'll go first. I'm Canadian, and more specifically I am in British Columbia (Vancouver Island if you want to get fancy. Try to find your country and join that thread! Everyone else?

If you're someone who DNFs books, what's one of the silliest or pettiest reasons you've stopped reading? I'll go first with some of mine: - The author kept repeating the same words/phrase, I couldn't stop noticing it and after 4 chapters I'd had enough - The MMC had the same name as an ex and I wasn't about to read a whole book where he gets a happy ending - They didn't use any punctuation marks at all Please tell me I'm not the only one who abandons books that should be interesting to me for ridiculous reasons?

A really beautiful, quiet love story about two broken people who find each other. I don't know how to describe it other than saying the book was soft. I wanted to read it in a hammock or a bathtub. There were some funky timelines.in the middle, and there are small details that pop out, like ordering draft beer and then drinking from the bottle. Or hospital names changing from page to page. But nothing major. Looking forward to more from this authour.

I'm already pleasantly surprised at how quietly beautiful the writing is. “Dinner’s almost ready, buddy.” The cheerfulness in my voice sounds practiced because it is. Hours of repetition in bathroom mirrors, in shelter hallways, in the front seat of the car when Leo slept in the back. The smile feels like a Halloween mask, stiff and ill-fitting, but I hold it in place regardless.

A copy paste of book 1 with less chemistry. A disappointing miss for me.

I read the first in this duology maybe a week ago and I was giggling and kicking my feet. This one is almost exactly the same plot - just slot in two new characters - and I'm just not into it. I liked Fox and Hannah way more in book 1 than in book two, and that's problematic because they are the couple in this book. It started out so strong with the text messages. Sigh. I can't believe there is so much left. What else can possible happen that hasn't happened three times already?

I wish this book was marketed as womens lit - about a mature FMC trying to find her place in the world after a divorce and her only child moving away. The romance didn't hit for me. Maybe because I wanted more from Charlie's POV. There was so much about the circumstance (which was interesting and compelling) and not enough about them falling in love.
