The Housemaid (The Housemaid, #1)

So I finished it finally, I devoured this book once I started to get attached to the characters. I really loved the dynamics and different developments between the characters throughout the book. I also want to point out how this is a fantasy book with a political war and how the romance is nowhere to be found or just too slight (don’t get me wrong I love romance in fantasy worlds too but it feels great when there’s an actual war with actual priorities other than such a mundane thing as love in my opinion), this is an educational and even if fiction realistic way to describe war and try to make the reader empathize with the victims regardless of their identity. Please if you want to pick up this book definitely do it was a great journey but read the trigger warning as it contains a lot of disturbing stuff. Can’t wait to read the second one:) !!

What would you consider to be pausing a book? And when do you usually pause/continue?
There's a book I'm currently reading which I'm enjoying, but I'm reading it so slowly I wonder if perhaps it's not the right time for me to read it.

it’s so crude and so realistic gives me chills… reading about genocide (even if it’s a fictional) it’s so so upsetting, even more knowing something similar is going on somewhere else.
