Hi everyone, and happy May!! I am curious, what is everyone's most anticipated read for May if you have a May TBR?
I'll go first, I'm so excited to finally start the Hunger Games series as I've seen the main four movies, but have never read the books! I'm trying to catch up before the new movie releases in November 🙂↕️

Hi everyone! I'm in the mood for something truly strange and thought-provoking, but with a solid plot that you can follow. Vibes-only doesn't work too well for me!
I don't mind whether it's fantasy, sci fi, lit fic, horror... I'll read any of it!
What would you recommend?

What are your favourite film or TV adaptions of books? I’m currently reading Journey to the Centre of the Earth by Jules Verne, and I can’t help but compare it to the 2008 film starring Brendan Fraser & Josh Hutcherson. The general plot is the same, although the film provided some much needed modernisation (changing the male guide to a woman was a good call. There’s literally 2 women in this book and they disappear by page 40!). I think I prefer the film.

My dad hasn’t read in many years and since his birthday is coming up soon I’d really love to buy him some new books as a gift. Just to encourage him to start again since he was a lover of reading when I was growing up. I fear he’s been in the worlds longest reading slump hahah
He read all of the Lord of the Rings and does enjoy a fantasy setting, just nothing that leans more into the romance than the fantasy and world building.
He’s big into science and history! He loves wood working and crafting things (he makes his own jewellery these days). So anything that has those themes would be fun. Both fiction and non-fiction is appreciated!
Some of his favourite tv shows are the walking dead, game of thrones and most recently one called Silo (I know these are books/comic book’s themselves but just wanting something similar I guess) He’s been enjoying the Dune movies and he LOVED Project Hail Mary so these are good indicators of things he enjoys watching. He’s a big fan of all the old sci-fi and alien movies of the 70’s and 80’s.
This has became a bit long winded now but really I’m just looking for any recommendations that anyone thinks my 53 year old dad would enjoy 😂
