I’m curious on what other people’s minds are thinking!
Personally my peice of advice is to not get caught up trying to be a ‘real’ bookfluencer. Just enjoy it!

Rites of the starling is the second installment in a planned trilogy. I thuroghly enjoyed the book and I didn't even get the plot twist until the very end when it was spelled out to me. I enjoyed the dual POV and the worldbuilding was very well thought out. I cant wait to see what else is next for this series! I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a healthy dose of fantasy and adventure with a little romance in a tasteful manner. I think Devney has outdone herself and is well on her way to becoming a big-time romance author.
As the second book in a planned trilogy, I was surprised by how much world-building it did. I did end up going back and reading a summary of the first book to help me along. I was pleasantly surprised, if not taken aback, by the big plot point reveal at the end, and it definitely left me hungry for more. The spice in the book was a pleasant treat sprinkled in, a mix of closed-door and open-door spice (some bits were vague, others more detailed). This installment of the series leaned more towards a fantasy adventure rather than a romance, which wasn't necessarily a deal breaker. The story kept me engaged and interested right up until the last page!

I’m curious if anyone has done any arc reading for indie or big time authors, and where one might find resources to get into arc reading? I would love to be able to offer feedback on new books before they hit the market and interact with indie authors!

I’m not talking about “I thought ______ was a terrible book”. I’m talking about very detailed, constructive reviews that actually help readers without being too biased?
I’ve noticed goodreads is flooded with low effort/critical reviews with little detail or information and I want to gather some notes on how to improve my own reviews!

this feels very much like a final battle and not a second book in a series 😭 i’m scared.
