An introduction to the Fantasy genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.

When searching through my TBR in my Library I noticed there wasn’t a way to search by book length. Sometimes I’m in the mood for a short book but it’s hard to remember which ones are less than 200pg. Is this just a me thing?

Is anyone else struggling with reading while working on a paper? Every time I read for fun I feel guilty because I could be reading something useful for my research instead - even in my free time 😭I really need to shake this off otherwise I just end up doomscrolling or something.

Personally, I really enjoy dual POV when it’s a love story, it adds so much to the yearning and tension. If the main POV is from the female side, I especially love getting those little glimpses into the male perspective. That said, when a book goes beyond two POVs, it often feels overwhelming to me. I haven’t seen it done well very often, sometimes it’s characters I don’t really care about, or perspectives that don’t feel necessary to the story. Curious how you all feel about this - do you prefer one perspective, dual, or a whole cast of voices? Bonus points if you can share a book where the number of POVs completely ruined the reading experience.

I just discovered the "plan" option here and I'm so excited. Unluckily I don't have time now to plan but next weekend I'll put myself to it. This seems like the solution to my 'almost no reading' year

I was thinking-- if any of us writes something (and just post it online, like ao3 and others) and wants to share it to the community, would that be posible? but then I thought that this could end up full with it and I'm not sure if that would contribute positively to the web, idk Is there any way that we could do it either way? Probably not, but just thinking about it

I was just wondering how long yall have been reading? And what got you into it? I can't remember fully but I'm pretty sure I've been reading all my life. It's just been one of those comforts in my life that's always been there <33

what’s been the best book you’ve read this year, so far? i love it when a book sneaks up on you and unexpectedly - any surprises? my current top two are blood over bright haven (ml wang) and masters of death (olivie blake). when starting blood over bright haven i was pretty confident i would like it, but masters of death was a complete surprise!

Do you write a review immediately upon finishing the book, or do you prefer sitting on it for a bit? I like writing when everything is very fresh in my mind; no more than a day after finishing it, at most, but sometime I do look back on ratings for exemple and think.. I might have been a bit over-generous in the excitment of the read
