Fictional books that feel like a warm hug, featuring magic and whimsy and perfectly happy endings. These are lower on stakes and higher on good vibes!

i am surprised at how i'm actually halfway through it already after trying to read this book twice before and not getting past the first few chapters. i don't know what's different this time, but perhaps it's because i actually took up the time searching for the fantasy terms (first romantasy book with faes btw) so i could fully immerse myself in the story—something i did not do when reading it for the first two times. i also searched the different characters portraits just so i can vividly imagine them too.
in addition, i removed my 'expectations' of having romance early on—which is also something i had high hopes for before, and i got disappointed when there didn't seem to have any spark of romance at the first few chapters. i focused on jude's character and her journey, especially since the story is told in a first person pov.
with these new perspectives, i found myself getting immersed in the storytelling and truly enjoyed the foundation of it. you guys are right when you say to power it through cause it gets better 👍 the mysteries, the thrill, and everything else makes it soooo much better. i would finish it tonight if only i didn't have to sleep yet lol. very curious what happens next!! 🥹

Dramatic battles, tense political intrigue, unique world building...and is that maybe some romance I'm sensing? These books are not Romantasy but focus primarily on the SFF elements. Romance is a subplot and may not appear until later in the series, but when it does, you won't be disappointed.
