This seems interesting so far, I’ve no idea yet as to how the story will end which is nice! But also seems more slow paced than my usual reads ā˜ŗļø Not sure if I’ll end up loving or hating the characters, they’re kinda sitting in a neutral space at the moment, hopefully when the plot develops more, this will be clearer for me šŸ¤©šŸ¤—

I thought it would be kind of fun to see where in the world people are, and then folks can make friends with people from the same countries/ares (if they way, not pressure obviously). I'll go first. I'm Canadian, and more specifically I am in British Columbia (Vancouver Island if you want to get fancy). Try to find your country and join that thread! Everyone else?

  • Book Recs

I find that I like asian folklore based books a lot, so does anyone have any recomendation for those type of books? My favourites are The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh, Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan and Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim. Would love for recs with the same vibes :)

  • Weirdest Thing You've Found in a Book

I just opened a book that I got from a used book sale last year and it had a leaflet about some weird medicine in it? So random, why would someone use that as a bookmark? And to then give the book away too?? I'm baffled. One library book I read a few years back had a sticky note message on the back cover and whoever wrote it seemed to have left the rest of the sticky note pad in the book as well. I've also seen my fair share of random bookmarks. A few weeks ago I found one that was covered in Olivia Roderigo stickers lol šŸ˜‚ I'd love to hear from y'all tho. What's the weirdest thing you've ever found in a book?

Loved Maya and Grayson as characters. And Jackson. And Maggie. The side characters really played well in this one.

I’ve been struggling to sit down and read more even though I quite like Chloe Gongs writing and loved the first book :,) does anyone know if the story ramps up a bit in the second half ?
