  • those of you who aren’t mood readers, how do you decide what to read next?

was thinking recently about reading when i was a kid, and if i used any method of organization to figure out what to read next, or if i just winged it (wung it???) and picked whatever book caught my fancy. and i realized i DID organize my books into essentially a little tbr! when i got library books, i would put them in order on my little bookshelf of which i was most excited to read, read them in that order, and it felt incredibly satisfying to make my way through my ‘tbr’. so a couple days ago i decided to do a modified version of that (modified version is a sticky note in the front of my journal with a short list of books to read next, in a specific order), and i want to keep going with it for a bit to see if i continue to like it but so far i’m loving it. am very curious as to how other tbr enjoyers organize their books/decide what they will read next!

  • When the Book Needed a Sensitivity Reader

The other day, I had to press pause on a book. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to pick it back up. There were some offensive descriptions that made it hard for me to move on with the story, a story I was initially extremely excited about. My thoughts are that this could have been avoided if the author or publishing house had invested in a sensitivity reader or two.

Has this lack of care ever prevented you from finishing a book you were really excited about?

  • Looking for play recommendations!

As the title says. I’ve looked through the quests, lists, and the club posts but haven’t found, if any, posts similar to this yet. I’ve been really enjoying reading plays this year and, while there are some easily searchable and identifiable classics, this is an area that I’m new to and I would love to create a more extensive master list. There are a few lists on here but only one or two larger ones that I can find.

But since this is such a large pool of work to get into, would love any recommendations, especially from non-English or translated works!

Edit: Thank you for all the recs!!! Appreciate it and will always welcome more all of these sound great :)
