While this book is very much fiction and dramatised for the sake of the story, i can’t help but think it plays on themes that feel disturbingly close to reality, which adds to the intensity and emotional impact. What made the story feel especially unsettling is how it mirrors some of the fears and headlines we see in the real world about exploitation, trafficking, and the darker side of the elites in the world..
It’s not a light read by any means, but if you enjoy dark, morally grey stories that push boundaries, this one definitely delivers.

Ohkayyyy a little further in now and I’m not noticing the same types or errors. I feel much better about this as I’m now able to enjoy the story.

I’m trying to figure out how this got published with the glaring grammar mistakes. Ya know, I’ve read some books that accidentally get published with a typo, but repeated grammar mistakes pull me completely out of the story. I’m going to struggle to finish this one.

I don’t know how I’m feeling about this story so far. It’s taking a while to get to any type of action. I’m a little… bored. I was super excited about this book and it’s very slow.

I love these books. Truly they’re a cozy escape from reality that is so incredibly appreciated! I enjoyed the characters, the setting, the plot. All around a very comforting, happy read. Found family is always my favorite!
