Don't have the energy for a full review today but the book more than holds up. I loved it just as much today as I did the first time I read it years and years ago. Five stars.

Been looking for an excuse to re-read The Raven Boys, and the release of the graphic novel gave me the perfect opportunity! Maggie Stiefvater’s writing is honestly what makes this series so special to me—it’s lush, lyrical, and steeped in atmosphere. The way she blends whimsy, eeriness, and sharp character detail makes it feel like you’re wandering through the woods with these characters, half in our world and half in something stranger.
During this re-read, I found myself savoring her prose even more. Knowing where the series is headed, I caught so many hidden beats and quiet foreshadowing moments between characters (IYKYK 😩) that I completely missed the first time.
That said, if you’re looking for a fast-moving plot or a tightly linear narrative, this series might not be for you. This book is very much about setting the stage, building mood, and exploring the group dynamics of its core characters. But if you love character-driven stories and don’t mind getting lost in the atmosphere, I really can’t recommend it enough. The payoff down the line is absolutely worth it—though I’ll admit to also having the nostalgia factor of this series being my entire personality as a tween 🤣🥹
Basically, 10/10 would still get lost on the ley line with these weirdos again. So if you’ve been looking for a sign to pick this series up… 🫡 Excelsior!
