This situation immediately creeped me out. At my previous house, the first four or five years we lived there, the previous occupants would come every Halloween and say, "We used to live here!" Upon reflection, I'm realizing that they hoped we would offer to let them in. I know they did not live in the area anymore because I saw them drive up to specifically trick-or-treat at my house. 😱

Aloha Bookaholics!!
My question for you is... 🥁
What is the minimum point you aim to reach before DNFing a book? 🤔

So I'm off work today and in bed sick 🤒 so of course that means reading and adding a crap ton more books to my tbr. But! I got to thinking about the much talked about topic/question of "how many books do you read at a time?"
I have always serially been in the middle of at least 3 books at a time. It used to be one audio, one physical, and one ebook. But now, things are out of control. If I have a Libby hold come up, I now start those too. So it could get up to 4 or 5 at a time 🤦🏻♀️
I find myself thinking of dnf'ing faster to get to a different book or just because I'm taking awhile to get through it. It may be spoiling my attention span and/or making me bored with reads that I normally wouldn't be?
So what's your guys' experience and opinions with reading multiple books at a time? Has anyone done this religiously and then gone back to focusing on 1 book at a time? I will at least always have an audiobook and regular book because I listen to audios at work but... I'm just experiencing some reading fatigue I think 😮💨

hello friends,
Sooooo what’s the most recent book you dnf and why? Do you give the author another chance or is that it?
This weekend I’m trying to finish a couple books and hopefully go to a bookstore, I am rewarding myself with two books 🤭
Recently I haven’t dnf a single book… which shocking!!!

Hi friends, I'm still getting my Pagebound footing, and I'm really excited to start taking part in more quests and readalongs and the like.
I'm especially stoked for the upcoming Pride 2026 readalong from June 1 - 30 (link to page on Pagebound here). I know there's also a main Summer 2026 readalong happening during this time.
My question is: how do special event readalongs work? For the main/standard readalongs, I saw that there are two different levels of badges that can be unlocked depending on how many of the selected books you read. Do special events operate the same way?
Apologies if this has already been asked and answered -- if so, just point me in the right direction! Much appreciated, dear friends. Stay cozy and be well!

I have a collection of many different types of bookmarks I've accumulated during the years.
Today I started reading The Priory of the Orange Tree and found myself searching for the bookmark that matches the book vibes the best. I suddenly realized I've been subconsciously doing this my whole life 😂 I feel like either I don't care at all and can use a receipt, a spare piece of paper or whatever to mark my progress or I have to use the perfect bookmark, no inbetween. Do you do the same?
Btw, I ended up choosing a deep dark blue cloth bookmark with red and gold flower embroidery for The Priory. Hope it does match the story, hahaha

long story short, i’ve been able to read a lot of books lately and it’s really inspired me to get back into my writing phase! i was obsessed with wanting to write when i was younger but as adulthood/reality hit (womp womp), i haven’t been able to tap into my creative side as much but that’s starting to change.
i’ve already seen some good posts on here about the writing process, but looking at other reviews of books that i’m reading has me wanting some personal opinions! i feel like im leaning more into a fantasy inspired book - so what are general things that you all love vs “hate” or don’t like about fantasy novels? i feel like it’s so saturated lately, but maybe that’s my own personal opinion. is there something you haven’t read or seen in a novel that you’d love to see incorporated? plot twists? world building related?
reading is subjective so i know not everyone likes the same thing obviously, but in a world building, fantasy inspired story: what are your favorite or least favorite things to YOU?!
(also if anyone has tips for starting to write, ill take them! maybe this will be one of my fleeting obsessions as an aries idk, but i would still like to hear from people on what they love or don’t love with fantasy novels!)
