This book was on the bookshelves at the hotel we’re staying at so wasn’t on my tbr and I never would’ve picked it up otherwise!

I definitely enjoyed it, didn’t find it too slow or anything but the change in emotions the characters had towards each other were like a whiplash multiple times so that part was a bit iffy for me.

I can see why others love this but personally wasn’t it!

If was a powerful read, reminded me a bit of Nazi Germany. The ending made me question what the real meaning of the book was about - in a similar way to how I felt after reading I Who Have Never Known Men.

Ah I’m really not sure what my rating is for this. I enjoyed it for sure, I read it in one sitting (but I am on holiday so I’m not going to take that into account as I had the time and energy to solely sit and read), but I’m left with a lot of questions.

I saw a review that mentioned it kind of gives similar timeline of dementia and forgetting things, which I get and… wow.

This will be one I process for a while I feel!

I’m not as hooked on this book as I was Hobbit & Fellowship. Feel like I’m reading it just to finish it vs the previous being completely absorbed.

I devoured this!!! Heard so much about this book so I bought it years ago but it’s been sat on my shelves since. I knew it was a YA but honestly it felt at times more than a YA! It was so intense, claustrophobic and dystopian. The characters were brilliant. Pacing was great. I was hooked!!!

I know it’s a trilogy and I’ve heard the third one just isn’t going to be published but I’ll still read the second one anyway.

I’m really enjoying this, didn’t expect to love it so much considering the authors!

Hmmm, I ‘liked’ this but didn’t enjoy it, if that makes sense?

I didn’t know anything about it apart from people loving the film. I felt it was so predictable but I guess it’s a kids book so it’s bound to be.

I just felt like a lot of repetitive storytelling & slow paced when the outcome was so typical.
