PSA; i got the tandem read on my kindle therefore i can’t tell where i am in each book until i buy the physical copies. until then, i’m just going to use the same percentage for both even tho i’m aware it will be a little off. i wish they had a tandem version on here so i can update properly 😭

In all honesty I wanted to DNF this quite soon in but wanted to complete the March challenge on GR. I really struggled with this and couldn’t connect to the story at all, I read up about it and saw it’s linked to another book which I haven’t heard of so maybe that’s why I didn’t love it? Not sure. Perhaps right book wrong time moment.

I absolutely loved this book!! This gave me Fredrik Backman vibes mixed with Fantastic Beasts quirky animal personalities. I didn’t expect to enjoy this, I went in blind and was hooked from page 1 if I’m honest. The ‘mystery’ is obvious but that is entirely the point. What a beautiful book. Big up Marcellus

I really loved this & have seen a mixture of reviews for it and I understand where the bad ones are coming from but personally I found this such a good book. I like the detail and the slow paced in historical fiction and the characters that don’t live up to expectations as it’s more realistic than the thriller, fantasy characters we’re used to in books. I didn’t know much about the Great Depression before reading it so it was quite shocking to read too.

This was really interesting in some parts but I thought it would be a deeper exploration and more informative than just their general lives. I enjoyed the multiple POVs but had higher expectations.

I don’t have the words to review this. It’s as disgusting, if not more disgusting than you’d expect. Men are just horrific, evil creatures and have no place. This woman is unbelievably strong and honest in this confessing her own lies and deceit. I hope all the men get caught and have the worst night sleep every night. I hope all victims get the love and support they need.
