This was very fun. The vibe of this book is fantastic, Laroux gets the creepy occult feel done perfectly. The plot was also really interesting and not what i was expecting going into it.
I enjoyed the characters, but i do have some problems with them. Leon wearing skinny jeans was a big no. And while i admire Rae’s tenacity, she has the survival instincts of a smooth rock.
My biggest problem is that Leon was all too human. Yes there was claws and his eyes changed colour. but I was promised monster and was instead given a secret member of one direction with some powers. I was hoping for her to be a little bit horrified by his true form, and I would be rating it much higher if there was.
All of the creatures were really cool and very well described, and overall, this was a really interesting and enjoyable read!

you know, all of their horniness aside, this book has been exceptional at achieving that dark occult forest, little bit scared but also incredibly intriguing vibe that that were going for.
