Hello all. My dog passed away last year. Today is his first heavenly birthday and I want to read something that celebrates dogs, especially big dogs (especially Bernese Mountain Dogs) . If you have recs for any poems, novels, articles etc (even artwork) about loving and losing your dog, I’d love to hear them. Thanks ❤️🐾

Fascinated with the way he describes things
The deer took flight, their white tails exclamation points against the green and brown of the underbrush.
Sunlight came down dappled through the moss and leaves, created archipelagos of light on the flat surface of the entrance.

So I just found out that someone called Andrew Hungerford has made and is running a stage production of this book??? The kickstarter just ended a few hours ago, but basically it was just to help cover the remaining budget. Show is set to run next month in Baltimore (America) - at The Voxel.
The kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/andrewhungerford/the-luminous-dead-a-stage-adaptation/description
The show page: https://voxel.org/events/luminous-dead/
Looking at Andrew's bsky account he's been posting so many cool things about the show. I kinda really want to try and get hold of the recording when it's available because I'm just so curious to see how it works on stage?? I'm not fully convinced it will work, but Andrew seems to have a ton of credits under his belt so he might know how to make it at least mostly work.
If you're in Baltimore and end up going to see this, please let us know how it is!!!

I ended up switching to the audiobook because I couldn’t focus and was losing interest and wow this shit slaps okay!!! The sound design is actually terrifying wtf all the redacted moments are so scary. The narrator is awesome. Falling back in love with this book!
