paper-knife created a list
Spiritual Science
A list to explore Science, Spirituality and their borders. Birthbaby of my study (biology) and my life history (a Buddhist mom).
Recommendations welcome. All science or (non) spirituality is welcome.
This list is still in the starting phases- Iām planning to curate it until it reflects the idea I have for it, but until then would appreciate all the help.

After opening up about my grief and reading yesterday on here, I decided I needed to put the books I was reading when my senior cat passed aside because they just reminded me of my last days with her. And I went to the library to try to find something that was easy and that I could comfortably sit down and read aloud to my dog and my other 2 cats. [Honestly, reading books I own is too much at the moment. Idk everything hurts but some things hurt worse.] I used to read aloud to my senior cat sometimes, which she liked.
This happened to be the book I picked up, and it was just right for that. I was able to sit down and read it all in 1 sitting aloud to my dog and my other 2 cats. The kitten ran around, but occasionally sat and listened. My dog and my 8 yr old cat lay by me and listened the whole time. It was nice, and honestly the story felt very meaningful to me in my grief.
I'm still not okay after losing my baby, and I'm not sure how I feel about reading other books going forward. But it was nice to create that new memory with my other babies.

(Tenth Anniversary Edition & š§ Narrated by Rupert Degas)
An interesting observation for those linguistically inclined and nerdy enough to care:
The name of bouncer at the Eolian, āDeochā, which Kvothe translates as āto drinkā, actually does mean ā(a) drinkā in Scottish Gaelic (pronounced, generally, as [d͔̄ŹĢÉx] or [d̄ʲÉx]).
In the Tenth Anniversary Edition that is in my hands, the author provides a pronunciation for this name (and other words) as ĖdÄax. If transcribed into IPA, that yields [ĖdiĖÉx], which pronunciation is actually closer to the related Welsh word diod, of the same meaning.
To me, this is obvious (if not irrefutably definite) proof of the nameās provenance.
