Flamefall (The Aurelian Cycle, #2)

antari.reads commented on KatieV's review of The Everlasting
I have been putting off writing this review because I dont know what else to say other than this is a perfect 5 star book. The pacing, themes, characters, romance, plot, prose - all absolute perfection. I genuinely don't have a single negative thing to say about it.
Every single word in this book had meaning - there was no filler.
It's hard for me to even pick a favorite element but I think the characters really stand out to me. They were absolutely to die for (and Una did). Every person who comes on the page has a fully realized identity, personality, and motives which were woven into the plot masterfully. The romantic love between our main characters was swoon worthy and supported the plot instead of taking away from it. And even the relationships with the secondary characters felt so real and lived-in even if they had far less time on the page.
If you have even the slightest interest in this book, pick it up immediately or else.

The Sum of All Kisses (Smythe-Smith Quartet, #3)
Julia Quinn

I love this book, I only wish it was slower and longer! The growth that Sarah and Hugh go through is lovely. I enjoy reading about characters maturing, I think that works best for enemies to lovers to work. I especially like that Sarah is confronted with her behavior quite early in the book, instead of it being the issue in the 3rd act. I only wish there had been more of it and it had happened over a longer period of time! I think the 3rd act drama (which is soo soapy you’ve just gotta embrace that to enjoy it) would have worked better if the characters had a longer time to develop, I love the sibling dynamic in this one, and the connection the previous books.
