I think I've found a new favourite book. This was such a treat from beginning to end and the only thing I'm hesitant about in starting book 2 is that i have no clue when book 3 will release.

Knowing how to speak Latin is unexpectedly coming in handy once more. The language is surprisingly more useful than I thought it would be when I first learned it lol

If you want to get into baihe PLEASE DO NOT START WITH THIS NOVEL. This book is frustrating to say the least, it has moments where I could see a good idea blooming but most of it reads like utter drivel. The concept was there but the execution simply didnt exist. I'll give it 1.5 for effort and the fact that there were moments where things could be enjoyable or where I found certain plot points interesting. Outside of that though, the characters are bland and have no depth, the plot feels like a dozen disjointed individual stories, and the story makes very little chronological sense.
