I have been trying to broaden my horizons and build a tolerance for frustration in reading (I tend to self-spoil when there is too much tension). What is a book you loved for the way a character was written? Bonus points if they felt real from the complexity and flaws they have.
Why do white women want to feel other women's hair? I once saw a black woman ask this on Threads and a lot of white women kept saying they would do that to everyone and that it's not just ebony hair they touch. But why? It's really odd because I know they learn as kids to keep their hands to themselves.

I think it’s the sense of entitlement like previous users said but also the fetishization. Blacks women’s bodies are sexualized, demonized, strived for all at the same time for different reasons. I think of Sarah Baartman specifically. She was brought from Africa to Europe and was put on display for her large buttocks and other features. She died in 1815 and was only properly buried in 2002. *This book is on my TBR. I took a whole class on Black Feminist Thought. It changed my life and I highly recommend looking into the Combahee River Collective for more Black Feminism. I truly don’t think white feminism is Feminism, it’s racism that gives women power.
