Please release me from the cringe😭
"She laughed as she waved the shirt at me triumphantly, doing a little victory dance which meant she was grinding right against my hard-on and sending my body haywire."
The sacrifices I have to make to get through these books because the story is interesting but some of the writing is.... Sigh.

I’m about to tandem read books 6 & 7 (ToD and EoS), but I’m not too sure on this one. The series gets a bit longer after this, and besides I’m not too invested as I was? Is there a great payoff or something? I’m also planning to read at least acotar afterwards.
I dont know, I just need reassurance that it gets better.

meh. I was super intrigued by the idea of Grecian lore and Vampires meeting but it felt… basic. The characters have potential but virtually no growth happens the entire book. The pacing is weird. The plot is very good (unoriginal but i don’t mind that) but takes FOREVER to actually start. 95% of this book is literally just set up for book 2. I DO think book 2 will be more interesting and i’ll likely read it at some point but i felt really bored for most of this book especially bc none of it felt original.

An introduction to the Fantasy genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.
