The Sword of Kaigen
M.L. Wang
Post from the Blood Over Bright Haven forum
Sciona realized belatedly how the implications might have hurt her assistant and felt a pang of guilt. “Not Kwen like you, obviously. You’re different, educated. But on the whole, Kwen tribes don’t have the best track record of preserving their own cultures and artifacts.”
Oh dear, Sciona... that's just how you've been educated, that's what you were taught. And is the civilization and education system trust worthy, based on your own lived experience as a woman in this world? There are people who are more marginalized than you, dear Sciona.
Moments like this while reading, I'm not loving how in-your-face some of M.L. Wang's points are, but I appreciate that is a little bit the whole entire purpose.
