READ TRIGGERS BEFORE READING THIS BOOK

Quick Summary: The prequel to The Order. Follow Carrson and Betsy and their journey through Ashford.

I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN. Literally, this book blew my mind and I was upset that work interrupted my reading time. This was active, fast paced and answered questions I had about how they became who we know in the first book.

While my opinions in the first book made me question Carrson.... this book made me root for him and Betsy knowing that they are both morally grey characters. Their relationship was intoxicating (bold that Toxic part), but you couldn't help but see how they were there for each other and helped each other. You can't be want them to end together and help each other out through each others backgrounds.

Finishing this book made me feel empty and thinking about what to do next for myself.

Overall, this was gripping and made me realize how much I missed this world and how much I want to jump into the next book. LIKE I SAID EARLIER, READ THE TRIGGERS FIRST!

Quick Summary: Camille is experiencing a quarter life crisis and moves to a beach town with her friend Danny.

This book was SO good. I love the communication between the friend group and how comfortable they all were with talking about their feelings with each other. The accountability they all took with what they said to each other and how they continued to support each other. I loved how the whole friend group just wanted the best for each other no matter what that looks like. This book is a great coming of age for those who are in their mid 25s and grieving where they are versus where they want to be. I found myself wanting to know what comes next and obviously when Danny and Cam were going to pop that friend zone.

Cam was a great character. While she was a bit annoying in bits, but understandable since she feels like her friends left her behind when she realized that she just doesn't listen sometimes. I loved how she continued to explore what life looks like for her and what she wanted to do with it. I love how true she was with her feelings towards Danny and how she was worried about being with another friend given what happened between her and Cory. I love her willingness to jump out of her comfort zone and doing things she has never done before.

Danny... Danny... Danny.. He is SUCH a good friend and love interest. He is communicative and isn't afraid to talk about what he wants and how secure he is in his life even though he feels like his friends looked down on him because of his direction of life. He is soo supportive of his friends and so fulfilled in his life because he did stuff that he wanted to do, not what others expected of him. The slow burn between him and Cam was intoxicating and I just wanted more of them together. Danny's support throughout the group makes me yearn for friends like that (I do lol), but shows what a good friend can look like.

Overall, I am blown away by this book. This gave the beach small town vibes with friends who are also family. I highly recommend this book as it was a refreshing read.

Quick Summary: Tucker and Sabrina meet for a one-night stand, and their worlds get turned upside down.

I struggled with this book. I have loved Tucker throughout the series. He is a great guy, and you just want the best for him. He is sweet, caring, and SO loyal that you just want whoever he ends up with to treat him the way he deserves.

I have mixed feelings about Sabrina. I get her stubbornness given her background and how she has had to do EVERYTHING by herself. She lives with her stepfather???? (Who I can't stand, worst character I've read in a LONG time) and is so driven and feels like she has to do everything by herself, as she has learned early on that she can only rely on herself. While I understand where she is coming from, she is so stubborn that I just wanted to throw the book across the room because of how much she struggled to give up control with everything going on. I get it, AND its infuritating that she struggles to see the whole picture. With that being said, I feel like the book was repetitive due to the minimal character development from Sabrina. I feel like it was the same issue over and over again due to her not giving up anything. With that, I feel like the plot lacked, and I struggled to keep my attention with this book and found myself wondering when this book would be over.

I loved the side characters; I loved seeing the past book characters and how supportive everyone is in this series to their friends! I will continue on and read Legacy in hopes that my love for Tucker and Sabrina grows (I already love the past characters!).

Quick Summary: Kaia moves back home to Connecticut where her sister is working on opening up a match making service and uses Kaia as a her first 'customer'.

I just don't think I vibed with this book. I had a hard time connecting with Kaia as she was so pessimistic and refused to let others help her with the mindset that nothing is ever going to get better. While her family is supportive, I felt like they were toxic in a way of continuing to push her in situations where she didn't feel comfortable or anything was going to happen. I was also struggling to get behind her relationship with Ro. I felt like he was a great guy, but because of her attitude I struggled to see the connection because of how many times she pushed him away because she was indecisive and continuing to work on herself. I felt like their relationships was a bit forced and the ending didn't help with where it ended.

I did appreciate the times she did have with Ro, they were deep and lighthearted at the same time. I do enjoy how Ro pushed Kaia out of her comfort zone and continued to be with her regardless of she treated him. I will also say I appreciated how Kaia never did give up on doing what she thought was best and I do like that tenacity and willingness to change.

Overall, this was an easy read, I just found myself getting frustrated with Kaia throughout the book.

Quick Summary: This book follows Jory, Asher, and Ky as they continue to navigate the growing tension in the land and the alliances that are being made.

This book starts pretty much where the first book ends. Asher, Ky, and Jory where they are trying to explore what trust looks like for the three of them. This book continues on with the slow simmering/burn of the three of them, but when it gets there, it gets there.

This book was HIGHLY addicting, with me wanting to know more about their relationships and how they are going to continue to interact with each other. I also enjoyed learning more about how they started to fit in with each other. This goes along with the plot of learning more lore of the land and the tension between all the kingdoms. With the twists and turns of this book, it kept me guessing throughout the book and wanting to know what was going to happen next. As the plot started to grow thicker, that is when the ending came. I am NOT over that cliffhanger, and I just want to know more about what happens next. Not only was this book a slow burn for the three, but it was definitely a slow burn in general.

Brigid just has a way with this time era, and I will always be sat for her books. Please check the trigger warnings for this book, as it does have a lot of graphic scenes (and spicy scenes). I am so sad to wait some time for the next book, but I CAN'T wait for the next book.

This was a nice YA summer read. I love the small town, summer read. It was interesting to read where the main character is the daughter of the president and shows what it’s like to not have a normal childhood. I loved watching Abby take charge of her life and do what she wanted. I also enjoyed watching her and Gabe’s relationship blossom. The dates they go on and the banter between them was fun to read! This is a great summer read if you are looking for one!
