It has taken me SO LONG to pick this one up, even though it’s right up my alley. The writing is lovely so far:

“I used to think there was such a thing as emptiness, that there were places in the world one could go and be alone. This, I think, is still true, but the error in my reasoning was to assume that alone was somewhere you could go, rather than somewhere you had to be left.”

I will come back to write a more comprehensive review after I process my thoughts fully. The first book captured me a lot more and until I read the part where Lala had an important talk with Evangeline, I wasn't feeling connected with this book as much. After that, everything changed for me and the story became so interesting. Everything that happened at the end was an amazing story to read. I am happy that I chose to continue this series, and I will read the rest of it soon as well. As for the beginning, Eva did annoy me quite a lot, even though I like her. I understand why she was acting like that, but I was not having the best time following her for a while. I am glad I guessed what would happen with Jacks and Eva at the end, but what happened after that was quite a surprise!! Writing-wise, a very good one.
