I read a few pages in but I'm not sure if this is a book for me. Not because the clear criticism of the tradwife movement which is absolutely valid, but because it is kinda boring for me (just a few pages in though, as you can see from this forum post!)
Does someone know if it gets better after so I don't give it a DNF'd? Thank you. đ

Anyone else just read many books at one time. I would usually read 1 physical book, 1 on kindle, and another one listening in audiobook format. Before I would usually just read one book at a time, but I feel like if a certain read starts to feel a bit slow or losing my attention, I just have to urge to read/listen to another story. I found by doing this I tend to DNF less books. Anyone else do this lmaoo??

I'm going through the popular romantasy sagas (think ACOTAR, The Empyrean, etc) and I keep finding comments in forums about how poorly written these are. Now I'm no writer and I haven't read THAT much to realise what's wrong with the writing. I'm curious to read something that falls within the well written standards so I can compare and find out by myself. What is a book that you love and is well written? Also, what defines a good writing? Are we talking lack of plot holes? Perfect grammar? Goes above and beyond with the story building?
Please help me understand.
Editing to add my take on it: I find something is poorly written if I struggle to follow the story for a couple of paragraphs, which only happened once or twice while reading those books I mentioned. I may or may not like the plot, but I don't think that defines the writing, does it? Repetition of phrases also bothers me if it happens too often and doesn't add up to the plot.
Edit 2: I guess what I'm trying to understand is if there are a certain set of 'rules' that define good writing or it all comes to personal taste (sorry, my background is in science and I know very little about artđ )

So Iâm sure (unless youâre in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere) you have at least one or two book clubs that meet regularly in your area. I know for me, Iâm in Fresno, CA, reading meet ups have proliferated in my area due to social media. Just last night the âBookish Momâs Clubâ Iâm a part of on FB had a bingo night I attended. Iâve also been to a couple silent book reading gatherings within the last year. My question is for those who love Pagebound like me, have you found yourself a bit of a Pagebound evangelist in these groups, or even outside of them too?
I know as soon as I hear that someone is a reader, Iâm telling them about Pagebound and sharing my profile with them.
Also, what are the names of some of your favorite book clubs/reading groups in your area?!
