Really ended up loving this book to my surprise! Didn't feel long at all and just wanted to have more time in the day so I could continue reading. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who's even slightly interested!
I noticed a lot of people mentioning they felt bored with Ruth's chapters (which is literally half the book), but I thought they were a needed addition to break up some of the distressing and sad events happening in Naoko's life. Ruth kind of acts as a reader self-insert with some of her analysis especially towards the later half when she discusses certain events with Oliver. One particular discussion was very enlightening to me as a reader, as Oliver pointed something out that Ruth and I didn't notice. I feel like this is a super interesting way to frame the main story.
My favorite aspect was the addition of quantum physics and entanglement. I was terrible at quantum mechanics in university but the concepts are intriguing. If anyone has seen the movie Only Lovers Left Alive, which also has a minor focus on entanglement theory, I had a wonderful time engaging with both of these mediums to analyze the possibility and effects of entanglement with the story. So if you enjoy this type of analysis and theorizing, I think this would be a perfect read.
