I’m looking into reading more absurd/funny books, like hitchhikers, dirk gently, all my friends are superheroes. I’m also currently reading Dungeon Crawler Carl

I like stories that are weird and aren't afraid to cross genres, and this book definitely did that. I came into this having watched the TV show. The book is completely different, as it should be since it was adapted into a new medium. I liked the plot in the book better (especially compared to the show's second season), although I did find it easier to care about the characters of the show than the book. This book feels like many random scenes, but if you trust the process they are impressively interconnected. It is also wonderfully comedic, of course, because it is a Douglas Adams story.

I cannot rate the actual book as I made the mistake of starting an audiobook that turned out to be a dramatised adaptation and I was already driving on the freeway when I realised and there was no where to pull over and change editions (it was a whole thing). So anyways….. here’s my thoughts on the dramatised adaptation: Too many mouth noises (seriously, what is with all that panting?? And don’t even get me started on those kissing noises 🥴). I liked having music to my audiobook though, it really added to the dramatic effect and I would be fine with more audiobooks adding some accompanying music.
I will be coming back with a proper review once I read the real version of the book lmao

I’m only angry at the fact that I cannot find the second book, not on Libby ,hoopla, cloud or even audible 😭
So far have not been disappointed by Douglas Adam!
