I really wanted to like this book as I have been watching thestoryaintover on youtube for years and I have been so excited and happy for the journey she's been going on starting her publishing imprint. However, this book wasn't for me. It felt undercooked. I was more often told what the characters were feeling than I was shown it and thus had trouble really connecting to the characters and their feelings. Everything felt very surface level. Even how it ended. I don't like it's focus on non-violent protests. Stonewall was a riot. You don't get anywhere protesting politely. Zain's story felt a little bit more thought out and executed. The storyline between Zain, Hannah, and their dad felt poorly executed as well. I think this book had the potential to be really great; I just think it needed to cook longer and that it needed better editors.

Yep, the first two were fantastic, and this one was just as fantastic. I was so invested in these characters and their motivations and their humanity. I don't want this series to ever end, but based on how this book went, I think we might be nearing a conclusion.

Yeah this was not it. The cheating. The justification of it. The waxing poetic & all the characters being so "emotionally evolved". Stella read too young to me at first. Like younger than her character was supposed to be. I just hate everything about this story. There's not a good thing about it. Which is a shame because I gave the other book I read by this author five stars.

80% in and honestly I don't know who I wan't to support and who I want to hate so far. This probably show how complex these characters are. Looking forward to the conclusion.

So, Altan is the ❤️‍🔥😘❤️ of this book, or am I being delusional?

I know this is not a romantasy or anything, but again I might be delusional.
