literally all of my thoughts about this book 😭
I’ve decided not to continue the series after seeing reviews for the third book saying it suffers from the same issues this book does.
The writing is beautiful, the world and politics are intriguing, the characters have so much potential and the author just doesn’t DO anything with it 😭
Also I take issue with this series being called a “slow burn”. The whole second book takes places over 24 hours. Anything character development that happens in that time is not slow, sorry. That’s fast. It’s just a slow book.
Lastly, this is not how you do a love triangle. Done well, love triangles are incredible for the tension and angst and pining. This is not that.
After how much potential there was in the first book, this one really hurts.
i call my uber and my ride is a tulip. i am pleased as this is what i expect. i look out the window and everything is fluff.. and fluff. and more fluff. i expect to see more. i do not. i see a bright poppy that i feel i should admire. i also do not. i try to remember more about what happened. i cannot. i adored my first tulip ride. i cannot say the same for this one.

i actually enjoyed his chapters in book 1 but im really not vibing with them now 😭😭
