I was recently put in “almost the same” situation as Cara. Her hesitation towards a relationship is really hitting home. I love that Claire really put Cara’s thought process in detail. It is highly therapeutic. I had always thought i was “overthinking” or “expecting only the worst” until I met Cara. Yes. I was probably those things but those things are valid and real un-dismissable thoughts. Not only i was able to understand her, but also me and my hesitation.

I love how Cara realizes (and addresses!!) how manipulative Will was even when she was head over heels over him. Unlike other romance book, Claire also addresses (in great detail) the phase where our brain overruled the heart and not just heart over brain. Overwhelming the potential partner with utmost scrutiny. Analysing and listing down all the red flags.

It’s definitely a ✨unique✨ kind of HEA!! IF it’s even an HEA. Looking forward to the next book.

Love the world built. The Arabification of the fantastical characters and the world was beautifully done.

What I love the most was Nasir's pure admiration for Zafira. Hafsah really made it in the most anti-misogynistic way possible. It was cringey but an enjoyable kind. This is the main reason why I pick up the next book.
