Wow, don’t know exactly what it was but something in this last chapter really did a 180 for me and I do not want to keep reading this lmao.

Gonna give it a break and come back later.

I figured I wouldn’t like this one as much, so maybe this is a bit of confirmation bias, but this book did not feel nearly as well rounded as the rest of the series (that I’ve read so far).

It’s odd though, because it distinctly feels like there’s missing pieces. I wonder if this could be because this book immediately follows HR and needed to introduce and sit into not-yet-revealed timelines, which the later books seem to do more seamlessly.

I have no complaints about the characters - they feel as expressive and charismatic as the rest of the characters in the series - but it feels like they are missing pieces as well. Like there should have been several more sections included to extrapolate on their characteristics, their relationship, their lives before reuniting - sections that feel like they were just taken out and not filled in.

Maybe it was an editing thing, or maybe there was more that Rachel decided fit better into other books.
