This is one of those books where you have no idea where the story is going (I guess you could call it character-driven?). The premise is incredibly intriguing and atmospheric. It’s slow to start, but by the end everything comes together beautifully in a way that feels cohesive and meaningful.

The writing and world-building are truly distinctive. The novel blends folklore, science fiction, and cultural storytelling in a way that feels so original and compelling. That said, it tackles very heavy and disturbing themes, so checking content warnings beforehand might be a good idea.

Trigger Warnings: rape, incest, sexual assault, pedophilia, pregnancy, abortion.

    Ramadan Plans!! 🌙

Ramadan Kareem to everyone who celebrates! 🌙 I hope this month brings us peace, blessings and so much joy !

For those who don’t know, Ramadan starts in two days and is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. During this month Muslims around the world fast (abstain from food and drink) from dawn to sunset. It’s a time for us to focus on spiritual growth, empathy for the less fortunate and overall self discipline.

I wont stop reading (I have Libby holds) but I wont be reading as much as I need to focus on other things. So my question for anyone who will be fasting this month, what are your reading plans 👀 And what will you be reading? Curious on how people will handle their reading as I tend to neglect mine lol. I guess I’ll be on my Ramadan Hiatus (stole this from @leyaa)

I also need to mention that during this month, I pray for all human beings who are suffering and oppressed all around the world. May Allah grant them peace, strengthen their hearts, grant them safety and mend their broken hearts ❤️‍🩹

  • Tell me a fact about you and I recommend you a book I read/from my tbr

I don't know how many people will be interested in this, but I love giving recommendations even if people then don't actually go and read the book. I love playing book cupid. So if you have any random fact about yourself to share and you want to try this little game, shoot your shot.

I mostly read ya, but I do read adult as well. My top genres are fantasy, horror, thriller; I did read a bunch of romance and contemporary too though.

I don't know if anyone will answer, I'm surely not a book expert, but even if just a few people do, this is mostly so both parties have fun. Then, you might also like the same books I do and this might be useful for you to.

You can add details about the book too, like the genre or specifc things you don't want in it, stuff like that, but please keep it general so I can find a fitting match. In the end, the game is to find a match based on vibes.

Also, if anyone wants to give other recommendations to the comments under this post, you're free to do so. Maybe I'll check them out too.

Edit: Someone asked me to put a fun fact about myself so you can recommend me something too. I moved houses 8 times in my life (to 5 different cities) and in all of them lived at least a ghost (moved for ghost unrelated reasons)
