Banned Picture Books
Children’s picture books that have been banned or challenged in the U.S. Recommendations always welcome!
My library had a Banned Books section on Libby and that is where I got the titles towards the bottom. I will update in the comments where I get new titles from!

amazing list, thank you pancit!!!!
Thank you!! It was inspired after a discussion post about if people read banned books in public and I remembered how ridiculous it was to find out there were picture books being banned
no yeah its ridiculous truly i’m excited to read some of these :)
heartbreaking that these are being banned. thank you for this!!
Truly😔 and that it seems more and more are getting added to the list. No problem, it’s really important to me that kids and their grownups know about these
awww i remember reading these when i was little ! it makes me so angry that these are banned. amazing list!
Thank you! Right?! These books are all so enriching and it makes me so mad that there are folks who don’t want them to be accessed
thank you for putting this list together, though how terrible that it has to exist 😔 I think I'm gonna turn it into my toddler's tbr!
Of course, I’ll do my best to keep it updated for as long as I see picture books being banned! That’s a great idea and I hope your family finds lots of beautiful books to enjoy together 💖
