This list is giving "can't sleep, clown will eat me" energy and I'm here for it. Also the clown from Life Expectancy by Dean Koontz is the one that made me afraid of clowns. Just the level of rage in a guy who is supposed to be a 'happy' performer. Yikes 🤡

Which of these books would you say has the scariest & least scary clown? I have to admit I've never really understood why some people find clowns so inherently creepy 😅
To be fair, I've only read IT from this list, and the 1990 movie was my favourite childhood movie, so I might not be the best person to ask...
i'm not sure how accurate it is but i'm pretty sure i've seen people say that a lot of coulrophobia actually stems from IT. i personally don't find it to be a creepy clown (it's the other aspects of its character that are creepy) but that's understandable. personally i'm in the middle of reading frendo lives and THAT clown is making me deeply uncomfortable (extremely positive. adam cesare is such a good horror writer)
The fact that I now know there is a book called attic clowns is enough for me to not sleep tonight.
