Incredible... I just started Jazz but realised it's #2 in the Beloved series. Should I read them in order?

Yes, do so in order. The series follows through different periods of history so Beloved is set just after the end of the American civil war (with flashbacks) and Jazz goes into the 20th century, the 1920s iirc.
I happened to read Beloved first, and Jazz a couple years later. I havenât read Paradise yet. How I managed to get this order right without knowing it was a sort of historical trilogy is shocking! Haha They definitely can be read as standalone books (canât speak for Paradise).
