I think The Verifiers by Jane Pek fits here too! the MC isn't exactly a detective but is essentially a niche PI who also starts looking into a murder and cover up, it and the sequel were both such good reads!
I have put it in my "to read to see if it can be added to the quest" list!
I hope you like it if you try it! The family dynamics are so visceral, it's a really cool part of the books. I'm normally more of a romance reader or fantasy, so this was a departure for me but I was surprised by how much I liked it!
Based on this list, we now have a Main Quest!
Copper Script by KJ Charles would be a worthy add :)
Also Cole McCade has the Criminal Intentions series (Book 1 Season 1 is The Cardigans).
Criminal Intentions is on my "I'm intimidated because the series is so damn big" list, but I'll add both of these đ„°
I've read Season One of Criminal Intentions and had a really good time with it! Gotta remember to prioritize Season Two đ

I just checked back and my library still doesn't have it, so maybe hasn't been released here yet. Dis make note to look for it again in the future.
