Reading Around The World

I decided to challenge myself to read at least one book from all countries that are UN-acknowledged + some more. More info: https://pagebound.co/posts/164280?

I’m aware that Scotland and Wales are part of the UK (before anyone criticises my flag choices 😬). I use the UK flag as well as the flags of Scotland and Wales because I’ve read many books from the UK, and I want to highlight Scottish and Welsh books separately instead of grouping everything under ā€œBritishā€. As of now (January 3rd 2026), I don’t believe I’ve read a book that's specifically from Northern Ireland, and since there’s no separate emoji for it, I include Northern Irish books under the UK flag.

The books in this list aren't necessarily the first book I've read from each country. If I've read several books from a country, I will try to choose either the book I enjoyed the most, or one that I feel could make the list more interesting (different themes, genres, etc.)
